At Malone Psychology, we specialise in supporting children, adolescents, and families with warmth, expertise, and evidence-based care. We are committed to helping young people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and thrive. Through personalised, developmentally-informed therapy, we partner with families to foster lasting emotional wellbeing and growth.
Dr Aisling Malone is a registered Clinical Psychologist who has over 15 years experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, parents and families in the public sector, schools and private practice.
Aisling supports her clients' mental health with a warm, engaging interpersonal style grounded in evidence-based practice. Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. Aisling is also trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT) and CBT-E for treatment of eating disorders.
Aisling works collaboratively with clients to build resilience, facilitate meaningful change, and help them achieve their personal goals.
Prior to commencing therapy, a comprehensive assessment of the presenting concerns is conducted which which may include a family session, a joint session with the parent and child/young person, individual interviews with the child/young person, and/or a separate parent interview to gather background information and developmental history. The treatment offered is guided by the findings of the assessment, with particular attention to the underlying factors contributing to the difficulties, the child’s developmental stage and age, and the broader family context in which they live.
Aisling provides individual therapy for a range of mental health presentations including:
Assessment also forms an important part of the initial sessions with young adults. These discussions focus on you sharing information about the concerns that have brought you along, your family background, current relationships, your perception of the areas you require assistance with and also your strengths. You may be asked to complete some questionnaires which can assist in our understanding of your challenges. These early sessions also provide an opportunity for you to work out whether you wish to progress with treatment sessions with Aisling
Aisling offers support and consultation to parents on a wide range of issues related to childhood and adolescence. She is accredited in several parenting group programs and incorporates these approaches both in individual consultations and group settings.
Aisling holds endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and is an Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) approved supervisor. She provides supervision to registered psychologists working in private practice, educational settings or community agencies. Please contact Aisling to discuss your particular requirements.
